[In the course of conflict between Rakshasas and Vanaras Angada fights with Indrajith. Other Rakshasas are lopped off by Rama and Nikumbha by Neela. Sushena kills Vidyunmali.]

युध्यतांतुततस्तेषांवानराणांमहात्मनाम् ।

रक्षसांसम्बभूवाथबलकोपस्सुदारुणः ।।6.43.1।।


ततः thereafter, महात्मानाम् gigantic, तेषांवानराणाम् those Vanaras, रक्षसांच and Rakshasas, युध्यताम् waging war, अथ while, सुदारुणः exceedingly terrific, बलरोषः anguished, सम्बभूव could not tolerate the sight.

Thereafter the gigantic army of Vanaras were fighting with exceedingly terrific Rakshasas and the anguished Rakshasas could not tolerate the sight.
तेहयैःकाञ्चनापीडैर्ध्वश्चाग्निशिखोपमैः ।

रथैश्चादित्यसङ्काशैःकवचैश्चमनोरमैः ।।6.43.2।।

निर्ययूराक्षसव्याघ्रानादयन्तोदिशोदश ।

राक्षसाभीमकर्माणोरावणस्यजयैषिणः ।।6.43.3।।


रावणस्य for Ravana, जयैषिणः desiring victory, राक्षसव्याघ्राः tiger among Rakshasas, भीमकर्माणः of terrible deeds, तेराक्षसाः those Rakshasas, काञ्चनापीडैः provided with golden trappings, हयैः horses, अग्निशिखोपमैः like flames of fire, ऊर्ध्वैः posts, आदित्यसङ्काशैः shining like sun's rays, रथैः chariots, मनोरमैः delightful, कवचैश्च shields, दश ten, दिशः directions, नादयन्तः resounding, निर्ययुः sallied forth.

Wishing victory for Ravana, the tiger among ogres, the Rakshasas of terrific deeds sallied forth accompanied by horses with golden trappings and seizing posts, which were like flames of fire shining like the sun's rays on the chariots and delightful shields, roaring resounding in all the ten directions.
वानराणामपिचमूर्बृहतीजयमिच्छताम् ।

अभ्यधावततांसेनांरक्षसांकामरूपिणम् ।।6.43.4।।


जयम् triumph, इच्छताम् wishing, वानराणाम् Vanaras, बृहती powerful, चमूःअपि army too, घोरकर्मणाम् of terrible deeds, रक्षसाम् Rakshasas, तांसेनाम् those army, अभ्यधावत went ahead.

Wishing triumph even the powerful army of powerful Vanaras of terrific deeds went ahead to fight with Rakshasas.
एतस्मिन्नन्तरेतेषामन्योन्यमभिधावताम् ।

रक्षसांवानराणांचद्वन्द्वयुद्धमवर्तत ।।6.43.5।।


एतस्मिन् अन्तरे at that time, अन्योन्यम् one another, अभिधावताम् facing one over the other, तेषाम् those, रक्षसाम् Rakshasas, वानराणांच and Vanaras, द्वन्द्वयुद्धम् duel fight, आवर्तत began.

At that time the Vanaras and Rakshasas facing each other started a dual fight.
अङ्गदेन्द्रजित्सार्धंवालिपुत्रेणराक्षसः ।

आयुध्यतमहातेजास्त्ऱ्यम्बकेणयथाऽन्तकः ।।6.43.6।।


महातेजाः exceedingly brilliant, राक्षसः Rakshasa, इन्द्रजित् Indrajith, वालिपुत्रेण with Vali's son, अङ्गदेव Angada, सार्धम् contended with, अन्तकः and haka, स्त्ऱ्यम्बकेणयथा like Lord Siva with Lord of death, अयुध्यत fought

Indrajith, an exceedingly brilliant Rakshasa, contended with Angada, son of Vali just like Lord Siva with and haka, the Lord of death.
प्रजङ्घेनचसम्पातिर्नित्यंदुर्मर्षणोरणे ।

जम्बुमालिनमारब्धोहनुमानपिवानरः ।।6.43.7।।


रणे in war, नित्यम् invariably, दुर्मर्षणः difficult to encounter, सम्पातिः Sampathi, प्रजङ्घेन Prajangha, वानरः Vanara, हनुमानपि Hanuman, जम्बुमालिनम् with Jambumali, आरब्दः started.

Sampathi , who is invariably difficult to encounter in war fought with Prajangha, and Hanuman started with Jambumali.
संगतस्तुमहाक्रोधोराक्षसोरावणानुजः ।

समरेतीक्ष्णवेगेनमित्रघ्नेनविभीषणः ।।6.43.8।।


महाक्रोधः highly furious, रावणानुजः Ravana's brother, राक्षसः Rakshasa, विभीषणः Vibheeshana, समरे in war, तीक्ष्णवेगेन endowed with high speed, मित्रघ्नेन Mitraghna, सङ्गतः contended.

Highly furious Rakshasa, Vibheeshana, brother of Ravana fought with Rakshasa, Mitraghna.
तपनेनगजस्सार्धंराक्षसेनमहाबलः ।

निकुम्भेनमहातेजानीलोऽपिसमयुध्यत ।।6.43.9।।


महाबलः of great strength, गजः Gaja, तपनेन with Tapa, राक्षसेनसार्धम् with Rakshasa, महातेजाः highly energetic, नीलोऽपि Neela too, निकुम्बेन with Nikumbha, समयुध्यत fought with each other.

Gaja of great strength fought with Rakshasa Tapa, and highly energetic Neela fought with Nikumbha.
वानरेन्द्रस्तुसुग्रीवःप्रघसेनसमागतः ।

सङ्गतःसमरेश्रीमान्विरूपाक्षेणलक्ष्मणः ।।6.43.10।।


वानरेन्द्र Lord of Vanaras, सुग्रीवः Sugriva, प्रघनेन with Praghana, समागतः encountered, श्रीमान् prosperous, लक्ष्मणः Lakshmana, विरूपाक्षेण Virupaksha, समरे in war, सङ्गतः encountered.

Sugriva the Lord of Vanaras fought with Praghana and prosperous Lakshmana fought with Virupaksha.
अग्निकेतुश्चसुदुर्धर्षोरश्मिकेतुश्चराक्षसः ।

सुप्तघ्नोयज्ञकोपश्चरामेणसहसङ्गताः ।।6.43.11।।


सुदुर्धर्षः difficult to win over, अग्निकेतुः Agnikethu, राक्षसः Rakshasa, रश्मिकेतुश्च and Rasmikethu, सुप्तघ्नुः Suptaghna, यज्ञकेपश्च Yajnakepu, रामेणसह along with Rama, सङ्गताः waged.

Agnikethu, a Rakshasa who is difficult to win over, Rasmikethu, Suptaghna and Yajnakepu waged war with Rama.
वज्रमुष्टिस्तुमैन्देनद्विविदेनाशनिप्रभः ।

राक्षसाभ्यांसुघोराभ्यांकपिमुख्यौसमागतौ ।।6.43.12।।


वज्रमुष्टिः Vajramushti, तु also, मैन्देन with Mainda, अशनिप्रभः Asaniprabhu, द्विविदेन with Dwivida कपिमुख्यौ chief of monkeys, सुघोराभ्याम् fearful, राक्षसाभ्याम् with the two Rakshasas, समागतौ fought.

Vajramushti with Mainda and Asaniprabhu with Dwivida, the chief of monkeys, fought with the two Rakshasas.
वीरःप्रतपनोघोरोराक्षसोरणदुर्धरः ।

समरेतीक्ष्णवेगेननळेनसमयुध्यत ।।6.43.13।।


वीरः heroic, घोरः dreadful, रणदुर्धरः indomitable in war, प्रतपनः Pratapana, समरे in battle, तीक्ष्णवेगेन with high speed, नळेन Nala, समयुध्यत fought with.

Heroic and dreadful Pratapana, who is indomitable in the battle, fought with Nala endowed with high speed.
धर्मस्यपुत्रोबलवान्सुषेणइतिविश्रुतः ।

सविद्युन्मालिनासार्धमयुध्यतमहाकपिः ।।6.43.14।।

वानराश्चापरेभीमाराक्षसैरपरैस्सह ।

द्वन्द्वंसमीयुस्सहसायुद्धायबहुभिस्सह ।।6.43.15।।


धर्मस्यपुत्रो righteous son, बलवान्सुषेण of mighty Sushena, इति so also, विश्रुतः well known, सविद्युन्मालिना with Vidyunmali, सार्धमयुध्यत fought with, महाकपिः great monkey, घोराः fierce, अपरे other, वानराश्च Vanaras also, बहुभिःसह along with many, युद्धायच fought in war, अपरैः, राक्षसैःसह Rakshasas also, द्वन्द्वंसमीयुः duel fight.

Mighty Sushena, the righteous son fought with well known Vidyunmali. And fierce monkeys and Rakshasas fought in dual war with each other.
तत्रासीत्सुमहद्युद्धंतुमुलंरोमहर्षणम् ।

रक्षसांवानराणांचवीराणांजयमिच्छताम् ।।6.43.16।।


तत्र there, जयम् victory, इच्छताम् longing, वीराणाम् heroes, रक्षसाम् Rakshasas, वानराणांच and Vanaras, रोमहर्षणम् fierce which made hair stand on end, तुमुलम् confused, सुमहत् great, युद्धम् war, आसीत् happened.

Fierce war which made hair stand on end happened there, with the heroic Rakshasas and Vanaras longing for victory.
हरिराक्षसदेहेभ्यःप्रभूताःकेशशाद्वलाः ।

शरीरसङ्घाटावहाःप्रसुस्रुश्शोणितापगाः ।।6.43.17।।


हरिराक्षसदेहेभ्यः from the body of Rakshasas and Vanaras, प्रभूताः come out, केशशाद्वलाः in the form of hair, शरीरसङ्घाटवहाः the dead bodies like logs of wood, शोणितापगाः streams of blood, प्रसुस्रुः flown.

In that war, the streams of blood that flowed from the bodies of Vanaras and Rakshasas were strewn like weeds in the form of hair, bearing logs of wood in the form of dead bodies.
अजघानेन्द्रजित्क्रुद्धोवज्रेणेवशतक्रतुः ।

अङ्गदंगदयावीरंशत्रुसैन्यविदारणम् ।।6.43.18।।


क्रुद्धः enraged, इन्द्रजित् Indrajith, शतक्रतुः who has done a hundred sacrifices, वज्रेणेव Indra thunderbolt, गदया mace, शत्रुसैन्यविदारणम् destroyer of hostile forces, वीरम् heroic, अङ्गदम् Angada, आजघान struck.

Enraged, Indrajith struck Angada with his mace, the destroyer of hostile forces which was like Indra who had done a hundred sacrifices, would strike with his thunderbolt.
तस्यकाञ्चनचित्राङ्गंरथंसाश्वंससारथिम् ।

जघानसमरेश्रीमानङ्गदोवेगवान्कपिः ।।6.43.19।।


कपिः monkey, अङ्गदः Angada, वेगवान् swiftly, समरे in fight, तस्य his, काञ्चनचित्राङ्गम् bright with gold, साश्वम् horses, ससारथिम् with charioteer, रथम् chariot, जघान destroyed.

With the same mace (snatched from the Rakshasa) Angada swiftly struck Indrajit hand destroyed the horse, chariot, and charioteer.
सम्पातिस्तुत्रिभिर्भाणैःप्रजङ्घेनसमाहतः ।

निजघानश्वकर्णेनप्रजङ्घंरणमूर्धनि ।।6.43.20।।


प्रजङ्घेन Prajangha, त्रिभिः three, बाणैः arrows, समाहतः injured, सम्पातिस्तु and Sampathi also, रणमूर्धनि in the midst of war, अश्वकर्णेन A swakarna, प्रजङ्घम् Prajangham, निजघान killed.

While Prajangha injured Sampathi with three arrows, in turn Sampathi killed him with Aswakarna tree in the midst of war.
जम्बुमालीरथस्थस्तुरथशक्त्यामहाबलः ।

बिबेदसमरेक्रुद्धोहनूमन्तंस्तनान्तरे ।।6.43.21।।


महाबलः of extraordinary mighty, रथस्थः chariot's, जम्बुमाली Jambumali, क्रुद्धः angry, समरे in the battle, हनूमन्तम् Hanuman, रथशक्त्या mounting on the chariot, स्तनान्तरे in the chest, बिभेद pierced

Jambumali of extraordinary might mounting on the chariot in the battle pierced Hanuman in his chest.
तस्यतंरथमास्थायहनूमान् मारुतात्मजः ।

प्रममाथतलेनाशुसहतेनैवरक्षसा ।।6.43.22।।


मारुतात्मजः son of wind god, हनुमान् Hanuman, तस्य his, तंरथम् that chariot, आस्थाय taking position, आशु quickly, तेनरक्षसा that Rakshasa, तलेन with the palm, प्रमामथ destroyed.

Hanuman the son of wind god, getting on to the chariot quickly destroyed that Rakshasa Jambumali with his palm.
नदन् प्रतपनोघोरोनलंसोप्यन्वधावत ।

नलःप्रतपनस्याशुपातयामासचक्षुषी ।।6.43.23।।


घोरः dreadful, सःप्रतपनः that Pratapan, नदन् roaring, नलम् on Nala, अन्वधावत jumping, नलः Nala, आशु that, प्रतपनस्य Pratapan's, चक्षुषी eyes, पातयामास gouged out.

Dreadful Pratapan roared and jumped over Nala. Nala in turn gouged out the eyes of Pratapan.
भिन्नगात्रश्शरैस्तीक्ष्णैःक्षिप्रहस्तेनरक्षसा ।

ग्रसन्तमिवसैन्यानिप्रघसंवानराधिपः ।।6.43.24।।

सुग्रीवस्सप्तपर्णेननिर्भिभेदजघानच ।


क्षिप्रहस्तेन as if consuming monkey troops, रक्षसा Rakshasa, तीक्ष्णैः sharp, शरैः arrows, भिन्नगात्रः opening his throat, वानराधिपः Vanara leader, सुग्रीवः Sugriva, सैन्यानि army, ग्रसन्तमिव as if swallowing, प्रघसम् Praghasan, सप्तपर्णेन Sapataparni, जघानच hit speedily, निर्भिभेद and killed.

Sugriva, the Vanara leader, taking hold of Sapataparni tree hit Pratapan who had his mouth open as if to swallow the army and killed him.
अग्निकेतुश्चदुर्धर्षोरश्मिकेतुश्चराक्षसः ।।6.43.25।।

सुप्तघ्नोयज्ञकोपश्चरामंनिर्भिभिदुश्शरैः ।


दुर्धर्षः difficult to attack, अग्निकेतुश्च even Agnikethu, राक्षसः Rakshasa, रश्मिकेतुश्च and Rasmi kethu, मित्रघ्नः Mitraghna, यज्ञकोपश्च Yajakopa, रामम् Rama, शरैः with arrows, निर्भिभिदुः mangled.

Even Agnikethu who is difficult to attack, Rakshasas Rasmikethu, also Mitarghna and Yajakopa mangled Sri Rama with arrows.
तेषांचतुर्णांरामस्तुशिरांसिनिशितैश्शरैः ।

क्रुद्धश्चतुर्भिश्चिच्छेदघोरैरग्निशिखोपमैः ।।6.43.26।।


निशितैः sharp, रामस्तु even Rama, क्रुद्धः anguished, घोरैः fierce, अग्निशिखोपमैः like flames of fire, चतुर्भिः all the four, शरैः by arrows, तेषाम् them, चतुर्णाम् four, शिरांसि heads, चिच्छेद shattered.

Raged Rama with his sharp arrows which were like flames of fire destroyed all the four Rakshasas by cutting their heads.
वज्रमुष्टिस्तुमैन्देनमुष्टिनानिहतोरणे ।

पपातसरथस्साश्वःपुराट्टइवभूतले ।।6.43.27।।


वज्रमुष्टिस्तु Vajramushti also, रणे in the battle, मैन्देन Mainda, मुष्टिना with fist, निहतः killed, सरथः charioteer, साश्वः horses, पुराट्टःइव like the fort, भूतले on the ground, पपात fell.

Even Vajramushti fell on the ground struck with the fist by Mainda and the chariot and charioteer fell like the fort.
निकुम्बस्तुरणेनीलंनीलाञ्जनचयप्रभम् ।

निर्बिभेदशरैस्तीक्ष्णैःकरैर्मेघमिवांशुमान् ।।6.43.28।।


निकुम्भस्तु Nikumbha also, रणे in battlefield, नीलाञ्जनचयप्रभम् like a mass of dark collyrium, नीलम् Nila, अंशुमान् Sun, करैः dark, मेघमिव cloud like, तीक्ष्णैः sharp, शरैः arrows, निर्भिभेद shattered.

Just as the Sun 's rays pierced through clouds Nikumbha was shattered and fell like a mass of collyrium in the battlefield.
पुनश्शरशतेनाथक्षिप्रहस्तोनिशाचरः ।

बिभेदसमरेनीलंनिकुम्भःप्रजहासच ।।6.43.29।।


क्षिप्रहस्तः endowed with speed in shooting arrows, निशाचरः night ranger, निकुम्भः Nikumbha, अथ there, शरशतेन a thousand arrows, समरे in the battle, नीलम् Nila, पुनः again, बिभेद shattered, प्रजहासच and laughed heartily.

Nikumbha, the night ranger who was endowed with speed in shooting arrows again shot with a thousand arrows and laughed heartily.
तस्यैवरथचक्रेणनीलोविष्णुरिवाहवे ।

शिरश्चिच्छेदसमरेनिकुम्भस्यचसारथेः ।।6.43.30।।


नीलः Nila, आहवे, विष्णुरिव like Vishnu, तस्यैव his own, रथचक्रेण chariot wheels, समरे in battle, निकुम्भस्य at Nikumbha, सारथेः charioteer, शिरः head, चिच्छेदः broken to pieces.

Like Lord Vishnu, Nila took the wheels of the chariot of Nikumbha and shattered the charioteer into pieces.
वज्राशनिसमस्पर्शोद्विविदोऽप्यशनिप्रभम् ।

जघानगिरिशृङ्गेणमिषतांसर्वरक्षसाम् ।।6.43.31।।


वज्राशनिसमस्पर्शः like thunderbolt to touch, द्विविदोपि Dwivida's body, सर्वरक्षसाम् all Rakshasas, मिषताम् watching, गिरिशृङ्गेण mountain peak, अशनिप्रभम् Asaniprabhu, जघान moved about.

Dwivida whose body was like a thunderbolt to feel, moved about on the mountain peak as Rakshasas were watching.
द्विदिधंवानरेन्द्रंतुनगयोधिनमाहवे ।

शरैरशनिसङ्काशैस्सविव्याधाशनिप्रभः ।।6.43.32।।


सःअशनिप्रभः that Asaniprabha, आहवे fighting with, नगयोधिनम् with trees, वानरेन्द्रम् Vanara Lord, तु you, द्विविधम् Dwivida, आशनिसङ्काशैः resembling lightening, शरैः arrows, विव्याध wounded

Asaniprabha shot arrows resembling lightning at Dwivida the Vanara Lord who was fighting with trees.
सशरैरभिविद्धाङ्गोद्विविदःक्रोधमूर्छितः ।

सालेनसरथंसाश्वंनिजघानाशनिप्रभम् ।।6.43.33।।


शरैः arrows, अभिविद्धाङ्गः whose limbs have been injured, सःद्विविदः that Dwivida, क्रोधमूर्छितः enraged, सालेन Sala tree, सरथम् charioteer, साश्वम् horses, अशनिप्रभम् Asaniprabha, निजघान killed.

Dwivida whose limbs have been injured being enraged took Sala tree and killed Asaniprabha and the charioteer as well as the horses.
विद्युन्मालीरथस्थस्तुशरैःकाञ्चनभूषणैः ।

सुषेणंताडयामासननादचमुहुर्मुहुः ।।6.43.34।।


रथस्थः in the chariot, विद्युन्माली Vidyunmali, काञ्चनभूषणैः decorated with gold, शरैः arrows, मुहुर्मुहुः again and again, सुषेणम् at Sushena, ताडयामास beating, ननादच roared.

Vidyunmali mounting the chariot started releasing arrows covered with gold at Sushena and roared.
तंरथस्थमथोदृष्टवासुषेणोवानरोत्तमः ।

गिरिशृङ्गेणमहतारथमाशुन्यपातयत् ।।6.43.35।।


अथो Nay!, वानरोत्तमः leader of Vanaras, सुषेणः Sushena, रथस्थम् chariot, तम् him, दृष्टवा top, महता great, गिरिशृङ्गेण peak of the mountain, आशु there, रथम् chariot, न्यपातयत् crushed.

Nay, Sushena, the leader of Vanaras, saw himself down and Jambumali on top in the chariot. He crushed him with a big mountain peak.
लाघवेनतुसंयुक्तोविद्युन्मालीनिशाचरः ।

अपक्रम्यरथात्तूर्णंगदापाणिःक्षितौस्थितः ।।6.43.36।।


लाघवेन huge, संयुक्तः, निशाचरः night ranger, विद्युन्माली Vidyunmali, रथात् from the chariot, तूर्णम् quickly, अपक्रम्य got down, गदापाणिः mace, क्षितौ placed on the chest, स्थितः remained.

Vidyunmali seeing Sushena, the monkey leader got a huge rock, and hit him on his chest with the mace.
ततःक्रोधसमाविष्टःसुषेणोहरिपुङ्गवः ।

शिलांसुमहतींगृह्यनिशाचरमभिद्रवत् ।।6.43.37।।


ततः thereafter, क्रोधसमाविष्टः overtaken by anger, हरिपुङ्गवः monkey leader, सुषेणः Sushena, महतीम् huge, शिलाम् rock, गृह्य seizing, निशाचरम् Rakshasa, अभिद्रवत् dropped.

Thereafter overtaken by anger, the monkey leader Sushena seized the huge rock from the Rakshasa and dropped it.
तमापतन्तंगदयाविद्युन्मालीनिशाचरः ।

वक्षस्यभिजघानाशुसुषेणंहरिपुङ्गवः ।।6.43.38।।


निशाचरः night ranger, विद्युन्माली Vidyunmali, आपतन्तम् , तम् him, हरिपुङ्गवः leader of monkeys, सुषेणम् Sushena, आशु with, गदया the mace, वक्षसि on the chest, अभिजघानह hit him.

Then Vidyunmali, seeing the leader of monkeys getting the huge rock, hit him on the chest with the mace.
गदाप्रहारंतंघोरमच्नित्यप्लवगोत्तमः ।

तांशिलांपातयामासतस्योरसिमहामृधे ।।6.43.39।।


महामृधे great monkey, प्लवगोत्तमः leader of monkeys, घोरम् dreadful, तंगदाप्रहारम् that mace, अच्नित्य not caring, शिलाम् rock, ताम् him, तस्य his, उरसि chest, पातयामास dropped.

The great monkey leader Sushena, not caring for the mace, dropped the rock on Vidyunmali's chest.
शिलाप्रहारभिहतोविद्युन्मालीनिशाचरः ।

निष्पिष्टहृदयोभूमौगतासुर्निपपातह ।।6.43.40।।


शिलाप्रहाराभिहतः hit by the huge rock, निशाचरः night ranger, विद्युन्माली Vidyunmali, निप्पिष्टहृदयः ceased of life, गतासुः gone, भूमौ on the ground, निपपातह dropped.

Vidyunmali, the Rakshasa hit by the huge rock, was ceased of life.
एवंतैर्वानरैश्शूरैश्शूरास्तेरजनीचराः ।

द्वन्द्वेविमृदितास्तत्रदैत्याइवदिवौकसैः ।।6.43.41।।


शूराः warriors, तेरजनीचराः those Rakshasas, शूरैः with warriors, तैःवानरैः those Vanaras, एवम् in that manner, तत्र there, द्वन्द्वे duel fight, दिवौकसैः wonderful, दैत्याइव like Devatas, विमृदिताः delighted.

In that manner the Rakshasa warriors and the Vanara warriors fought the duel wonderfully and like the way Devatas killed the Demons, the Rakshasas were killed.
भग्नैखडगैर्गदाभिश्चशक्तितोमरपट्टसै: ।

अपविद्धैश्चाभिन्नैश्चरथैस्साङ्ग्रामिकैर्हयैः ।।6.43.42।।

निहतैःकुञ्जरैर्मत्स्सैस्तथावानरराक्षसैः ।

चक्राक्षयुगदण्डैश्चभग्नैर्धरणिसंश्रितैः ।।6.43.43।।

बभूवायोधनंघोरंगोमायुगणसेवितम् ।


गोमायुगणसेवितम् frequented by groups of jackals, अयोधनम् battlefield, भग्नैः broken, खडगैः swords, गदाभिश्च and maces, शक्तितोमरपट्टिशै: spears javelins maces. अपविद्धैः broken, रथैश्चापि chariots also, तथा similarly, साङ्ग्रामिकैः fit for war, हयैः horses, निहतैः dead, मत्स्सैः by elephants, कुञ्जरैः horses, तथा similarly, वानरराक्षसैः Vanaras and Rakshasas, भग्नैः broken, धरणिसंश्रितैः on the ground, चक्राक्षयुगदण्डैश्च wheels and axles of chariots, घोरम् dreadful, बभूव seemed.

The battlefield was dreadful and, frequented by jackals with spears, javelins, maces, and swords, strewn all over, similarly with broken chariots, horses, elephants, and monkeys fit for war. Broken wheels and axles of chariots were found all over.
कबन्धानिसमुत्पेतुर्दिक्षुवानररक्षसाम् ।।6.43.44।।

विमर्देतुमुलेतस्मिन्देवासुररणोपमे ।


देवासुररणोपमे like the war between Devatas and demons, तस्मिन् their, तुमुले confused, विमर्दे rubbing together, वानररक्षसाम् Vanaras and Rakshasas, कबन्धानि trunks of body, दिक्षु directions, समुत्पेतुः scattered.

It was like the war between Devatas and demons, with the trunks of the bodies of Vanaras and Rakshasas rubbing together lying scattered in all directions.
विदार्यमाणाहरिपुङ्गवैस्तदानिशाचराश्शोणितदिग्धगात्राः ।

पुनःसुयुद्धंतरसासमास्थितादिवाकरस्यास्तमयाभिकाङ्क्षिणः ।।6.43.45।।


तदा then, हरिपुङ्गवैः monkey leader, विदार्यमाणाः killed by, शोणितदिग्धगात्राः full of blood, निशाचराः Rakshasas, दिवाकरस्य sun's, अस्तमयाभिकाङ्क्षिणः looking for Sun set, तरसा, पुनः again, सुयुद्धम् that war, समास्थिता adhering together.

Then the Rakshasas killed by Vanara leaders, their bodies full of blood were looking for sunset and again picking up strength began to battle.
