Episode of Kabandha 3.69.12-51

As they traversed through the forest they came across a cave from which a fierce tall plumpy demon of thick skin and harsh voice appeared. While they were searching the whole forest, a big sound, which apparently was devastating the forest, was heard. The forest was filled like the sky by the wind. The sound felt as if it broke the forest. The body of that demon had no neck and head, a torso. That torso had an eye near the chest. Kabandha is a body, which has its face and mouth near the belly. The eye, which is normally in the forehead, exists in the chest in the case of Kabandha. The demon in the form of the torso was flapping its two arms. Kabandha was dragging his favourite animals towards him and rejecting those, which he did not like. Kabandha stood blocking the way of the two brothers who had come by that path.

The idea is that the sorrow at the present moment is deeper than the one we had at the time of losing Sita. According to the axiom “Sarvam vakyam savadharanam” which means that every sentence has an emphasis. The meaning is “among all elements, ‘Time’ alone has the strongest power because even persons of your stature and my stature are subjected to sorrows brought by time. See both of us made flabbergasted by the power of Time. There is nothing very difficult for time with regard to any element or the destruction of any being.
